Blessings to our Class of 2017

The Luther College community came together this morning in a special chapel in the Quadrangle to farewell the Class of 2017.

After sharing and reflecting over breakfast with classmates and teachers this morning, the Class of 2017 entered into the Quadrangle to sounds of Mr Davies playing guitar and student applause. Once seated, Mr Davies played I’ll Be There For You by The Rembrandts to the Year 12s with the whole clapping or singing along. This song has become something of a tradition and reminds us all of our caring community and the friendships that exist within it.

In this final chapel for the Year 12s, our students were reminded that, not matter where they are or what they are doing, God loves them and cares for them. They were encouraged to enjoy and savour the simple, and special, moments of their lives and to be courageous, focused and disciplined as they continue in their final stages of preparation for their exams.

As the final roll call was read by the School Captains, the Class of 2017 departed for their last excursion together as a class.

A formal Valedictory Service will be held in the Chapel tonight, beginning at 7.30pm, followed by a supper for the Class of 2017 and their families.

We wish the Class of 2017 every blessing as they prepare for the final VCE exams and life after Luther.

Joshua 1:9 - Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
