And the winner is....

Birt has taken the early lead for the House Trophy after winning the House Swimming Carnival on Monday.

Once again, it was a race between Birt and Cheong, however the reigning champions laid down the challenge early on in the day and never let go of their lead. Cheong, Wicklow and Nelson were all successful in stealing points off Birt, but they just couldn’t change the outcome which saw them finishing second, third and fourth respectively.

Six records were set – five of them belonging to Birt. The Birt U14 Girls team set a new medley relay time (2:32.06 minutes), and the Birt U16 Boys shaved four seconds off the previous medley relay record. Congratulations to individual record breakers, Chantelle Underwood (Birt, U14 Girls 50m Backstroke and Butterfly and Open Girls 100m freestyle) and Charlie Lawson (Wicklow, U16 50m Butterfly).

Congratulations to all students and staff for the enthusiasm and support for each other and their respective house. And thank you to all of the staff for their work in ensuring that this was a great carnival.
