Luther College Croydon - Welcome Year 7!

Greater care
Greater learning

Welcome Year 7!

Today our Year 7s had their first real day of secondary school!

It was all smiles and nervous excitement this morning as our Year 7s began their first day at secondary school.

After gathering in their homegroup and attending Chapel, our Year 7s participated in the all important challenge of learning how to use their combination locks. Getting the numbers and the twists and turns right can take a few tries. Under the tutelage of the  well practised Year 10 Peer Support Leaders, it only took a few minutes to master - and the Year 7s will remember their combination for a lifetime! After this initial challenge, the Year 7s continued with their re-orientation: spending time with their teachers, learning subject timetables, enjoying a scavenger hunt and discovering more about the College.

On Wednesday morning, the Year 7s will depart for a three-day camp at Phillip Island and will get to know more of their fellow classmates through a variety of fun activities, before settling into normal school routine next Monday.

After parents farewelled their children this morning, they were also able to meet other parents at a welcome breakfast and share in the excitement of the day.

We wish all of the Year 7 students the very best for their first year at Luther College.
