This weekend we celebrate and give thanks

Friday 7 February 2014 - This weekend we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Luther College.

One can only imagine the excitement of Founding Principal, Pastor John Paech, as he, the Luther College Council and the six founding staff members, felt as they prepared for the beginning of Luther College.

From raking gravel to make it 'just right' and spending significant time preparing the landscaped gardens, to developing the curriculum, ensuring that the necessary school supplies were in place, and preparing the boarding houses for their first inhabitants, the sense of urgency and eagerness would have been profound.

This weekend we remember the people who, as God's servants, have used their gifts and talents over the last 50 years, to educate over 8,000 boys and girls.

This weekend, we give thanks to God, for all that He has provided, and continues to provide, to make Luther College what it is today.

Please join us in our celebrations, from 3pm-7pm on Saturday 8 February for tours, music, food, the launch of the 50th Anniversary book, and the opportunity to reminisce and reconnect.

On Sunday 9 February, beginning at 9am in the Luther College Chapel, we will give thanks to God in a Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving with Holy Communion. Everyone is welcome.

"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."  Psalm 118:24
