Fixtures for our interschool competitions occur weekly during the school day allowing students and their families to continue their long-standing involvement in local clubs and sporting associations.
Luther College values these club competitions, viewing them as significant in the development of young people.
At Luther College we have a broad program of sporting activities that assist students to develop a wide range of skills, a positive self image and a healthy attitude to physical activity. Our House system divides students into four groups and they then represent their Houses in three major carnivals each year; swimming, athletics and cross country. Recreational sporting activity is also encouraged and supported for all students.
Interschool Weekday Sport
Luther College is a member of the Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne (EISM) sporting association which offers sports competition against other independent schools in the eastern suburbs for Years 7 to 12.
The EISM hosts sport carnivals for swimming, athletics (track and field) and cross country. Students who successfully compete in the House Carnivals and associated training may be selected to represent Luther at the EISM carnivals.
In addition to our interschool sporting program, students may also choose to be involved in a variety of sports and competitions that are held throughout the year.
Students from Luther College regularly participate in State and National Championships for sports such as basketball, netball, touch rugby and volleyball.
