In 2014 Luther College presented 'Oliver'. Students from all levels had the opportunity to collaborate and combine their creative talents and present this favourite which covers many genres of music.
From lead and supporting roles, singing in the chorus, being a member of a dance group, playing in the orchestra, working as backstage or technical crew, or designing and constructing sets, the bienniel musical at Luther College provides an opportunity for involvement.
In addition to the presentation of a major musical every two years, Luther College hosts two biennial House Arts festivals: House Drama and House Performing Arts. The House Arts festivals provide students with the opportunity to develop their skills in directing and organising, performing, designing, choreography, production and backstage management. Students are challenged creatively and collaboratively to present a performance that meets the criteria of the festival. Both the House Drama and Performing Arts festivals are presented over two nights and judged by external judges who are professionals in the performing arts industry.
As co-curricular activities, these opportunities enable students to expand on their academic learnings and further develop their skills in specific areas of interest.
