Luther College - Celebrating 50 years...
For half a century Luther College has been a significant leader in Christian co-education, offering an educational environment where Christ is central, excellence is pursued and relationships are valued. Our College motto, Unctio Eius Docet (The Holy Spirit is our Teacher) forged by our College's founders continues to inform and guide our school.
In February 2014, the College celebrated its 50th anniversary with an open afternoon on Saturday 8 February and a Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving on Sunday 9 February - exactly 50 years on from the Service of Dedication in 1964. On Tuesday 11 February, our entire school community gathered in the Quadrangle for Chapel and reflected on the years past, the present time and pondered what might be in another 50 years time. This was also symbolic as it marked the first day of school at Luther College for 53 students on Tuesday 11 February 1964.
The 50th anniversary of Luther College has provided time to pause, reflect and give thanks for God's grace and the abundant blessings richly showered upon Luther and all who have passed through its doors. It has also been a time remember the multitude of dedicated people who, through faithful and conscientious service to their Lord, have contributed to the present day Luther College.
