PTFA

Parents, Friends, Teachers Association (PTFA)

Functions of the PTFA

The Parents Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) provides opportunities for parents to support and enjoy Luther College through involvement in a wide range of activities.

The Parents Association manages two businesses within the College - the Uniform Shop and the Sails Café. Parent volunteers assist these businesses and the funds raised are allocated by the PTFA for the benefit of staff, students and parents of Luther College.

Joining in the varied activities of the PTFA will enhance your experience at Luther College and provide an opportunity for parents and friends to participate in the community life of the College.

The PTFA has the following purposes:

  • Raising money (through the Canteen and Uniform Shop) for the acquisition, development or improvement of equipment at Luther College within the policies of the College Council.
  • Providing services to the College community (students, staff and parents), which will enhance the operation of the College.
  • Supporting activities or various programs initiated by the staff, students or friends of the College.
  • Providing support for families by contributing to costs incurred in various College programs.
  • Encouraging active parent and friend interest at all levels of the College and to undertake activities that promote this aim, including social activities.
  • Offering support to the community in times of need.

PTFA meetings will be held monthly throughout the year in PTFA House at 7.30 pm. You are invited to make a note in your diary to attend; you will be most welcome.
